All three players were drafted in the first round of the 2008 MLB First Year Player Draft (13th, 7th, and 1st, respectively), and all three signed exclusive three-year autograph contracts with Razor Entertainment -- contracts that had an "out" clause once they make their Major League debuts. According to an e-mail sent by Razor owner Brian Gray to Freedom Card Board, at the time of Topps' issuing of the Bowman Chrome sell-sheet and provisional checklist, all three player's rights were still held by Razor -- even though Razor, technically, no longer existed. (Gray had since acquired the rights to the Leaf brand name, and renamed itself "Leaf Trading Cards.")
While it was expected that Wallace and Alonso will be called-up to the Majors by the end of the 2010 season, Beckham was expected to remain in the minors. Wallace and Alonso were, in fact, called up; however, both were called up too late in the season for Topps to legally include them in any 2010 sets. Both players had their "true" rookie cards issued by Topps in 2011.

It is similar to the wrapper redemption offer in 2010 Topps Chrome, except Topps did not announce the Bowman Chrome program until after the product's release.

The set will include all 110 prospects from the 2010 Bowman set. Also randomly inserted into these packs will be a 33-card USA Baseball Chrome autograph set where all cards will be limited to just 99 copies with a Black-Bordered parallel numbered to 25.
Also | Also randomly inserted into packs will be five autographed Chrome Rookies & Prospects autographs, each limited to 100 serial-numbered copies. The checklist includes Buster Posey, Mike Stanton, Mike Moustakas, Miguel Sano and Dustin Ackley.
Finally, Topps bought back 100 copies of eight 2010 Bowman Chrome USA Baseball cards. According to Topps, the USA buybacks — which include the highly touted first certified Topps autograph of Bryce Harper released to the public — were not included in Bowman Chrome packs because of a production error, so they were part of this program.

The Stephen Strasburg Rookie Autograph packed out as an exchange card which expired September 30th, 2013. The exchange card for the one-of-one SuperFractor was not pulled until October of 2017 -- four year after it had expired. According to Beckett, the Strasburg SuperFractor was professionally graded by BGS November 7th, 2013 leading some to believe that it might have been used by Topps as a redemption replacement.

Description
2010 Bowman Chrome Baseball arrived on November 2, 2010, about two months later than usual. Each 18-pack Hobby box will include at least one autograph, and each four-card pack include two Prospects and two veteran/rookies. The autograph checklist will consist of 40 prospects who did not appear in 2010 Bowman, as well as Stephen Strasburg.
The 220-card Chrome set will consist of 180 veterans (reds) and 40 rookies (greens), and 110 Chrome Prospects.
The Topps 100 Prospects insert set from 2010 Bowman will return in Bowman Chrome, as will USA Baseball with the 2010 18U National teams.
Each 18-pack Hobby box should yield four USA Baseball, three Topps 100, one autograph, and seven Refractors per box.
Several people close to the source believe that roughly 10,000 cases were produced.
Exclusion of Razor-exclusive players
2010 Bowman Chrome was to mark the first MLB-licensed cards of prospects Brett Wallace, Yonder Alonso, and Tim Beckham.
On July 12, Topps notified The Hobby that the three Razor-exclusive players would not have cards in 2010 Bowman Chrome.
Wrapper Redemption Offer
In order to placate collectors who saw the secondary-market value of 2010 Bowman Chrome plummet due to the injury of Stephen Strasburg, on November 5, 2010, Topps announced a wrapper redemption offer. It is similar to the wrapper redemption offer in 2010 Topps Chrome, except Topps did not announce the Bowman Chrome program until after the product's release.
In exchange for a full Hobby box's worth of 2010 Bowman Chrome wrappers (18), Topps will send a pack of five black-bordered (non-Chrome) Bowman Prospect cards. The set will include all 110 prospects from the 2010 Bowman set. Also randomly inserted into these packs will be a 33-card USA Baseball Chrome autograph set where all cards will be limited to just 99 copies with a Black-Bordered parallel numbered to 25.
Also randomly inserted into packs will be five autographed Chrome Rookies & Prospects autographs, each limited to 100 serial-numbered copies.

Autographs
Stephen Strasburg Rookie Autograph
The Stephen Strasburg Rookie Autograph packed out as an exchange card which expired September 30th, 2013. The exchange card for the one-of-one SuperFractor was not pulled until October of 2017 -- four year after it had expired. According to Beckett, the Strasburg SuperFractor was professionally graded by BGS November 7th, 2013 leading some to believe that it might have been used by Topps as a redemption replacement.
This card is also available in the following Refractor parallels.
- Refractor (numbered to 500)
- Blue Refractor (numbered to 150)
- Gold Refractor (numbered to 50)
- Orange Refractor (numbered to 25)
- Red Refractor (numbered to 5)

Prospect Autographs
For the first time, since autographed cards were introduced to the Bowman Chrome product in 2001, each player who signed for Bowman Chrome would have BOTH a base Prospect card AND a corresponding Autograph -- essentially making the Autographs a pesudo-parallel. - Refractor (numbered to 500)
- Blue Refractor (numbered to 150)
- Gold Refractor (numbered to 50)

These cards were originally intended for release in packs of 2010 Bowman Chrome; but due to a "production error," issued them instead as part of the Bowman Chrome wrapper redemption program.
