Description
2001 Upper Deck Japan is a 180-card set distributed exclusively in Japan featuring stars of Nippon Pro Baseball (NPB). This would be the fourth and final Japanese set produced by Upper Deck and (by far) the most comprehensive. As with the three previous Upper Deck Japan releases (2000 Upper Deck Ovation Japan, 2000 Victory Japan, and 2001 Victory Japan), the design is the same as the similar American set.
The set features a number of players who would go on to establish themselves in Major League Baseball, as well as a few non-Japanese players who formerly played in MLB.
