Set of the Month

1994 Flair was a 450 card set produced by Fleer. Series One featured cards 1-250 and Series Two featured cards 251-450 in the base set. The design was similar to the previous year's set. Each card was printed of 24-point thick cardstock, with three additional points of UV gloss on each side; making it twice as thick as a traditional standard card.

The order forms for the Series Two was submitted at around the same time that the 1994 MLB Players strike commenced. For years, it was thought that Series Two boxes were produced in much smaller quantities than Fleer originally intended. However, shortly after Alex Rodriguez was acquired by the New York Yankees in 2004, a large number of Series Two boxes mysteriously emerged in the market.

The cards in the base set were grouped alphabetically by team within each league, with the AL preceding the NL. Notable rookie cards included Chan Ho Park and Alex Rodriguez. An Aaron Sele promo card was distributed to dealers and hobby media to preview the product.
