2002 E-X

Description

2002 E-X is a 139-card set issued in May, 2002. The first 100 cards featured veterans while the last 40 cards make up the "NEXT" subset of rookies and prospects. Cards #101-#125 were printed to specific serial numbers while cards numbered 126-140 were issued at a stated rate of one in 24 hobby or retail packs.

Please note that card #133 does not exist. It was originally intended to feature Yankees prospect Drew Henson, but Fleer's exclusive contract with the ballplayer expired two weeks prior to the release of E-X.

Distribution

Hobby: 24 packs per box, four cards per pack (MSRP: $5). Four boxes per case.

Retail: 24 packs per box, four cards per pack (MSRP: $3).

Parallels

Essential Credentials

Each of the first 125 base cards is available in two different Essential Credentials parallels: Now and Future. Each Now is serial-numbered to a production figure equal to the player's respective sequential-number (i.e. card #13 is serial-numbered to 13 copies).

For the Essential Credentials Future set the serial-numbering scheme is more complicated, so, for your convenience, we have listed the production figures for the whole set below.

Also, cards #1-#60 in both Essentials Credentials sets feature a swatch of game-used material.
