2004 Leaf Second Edition blaster

Description

2004 Leaf is a 300-card set that was released exclusively to The Hobby in January, 2004. The first 200 cards were printed in higher quantities than the last 100 cards in this set. Cards numbered 201 through 251 feature 50 of the leading prospects. Cards numbered 252 through 271 feature 20 players in a Passing Through Time subset while the final 30 cards of the set feature team checklists. Card number 42 was not issued as it was "retired" by Pinnacle Brands in 1997 in honor of Jackie Robinson.

Second Edition

Second Edition is the name of the retail version of 2004 Leaf. All cards are identical to their Hobby counterparts, with the exception of the words "SECOND EDITION" on the front of each card.

One of the more confusing and convoluted inserts ever made, 2004 Leaf Exhibits is a 50-card set with 46 different variations of each card. Each variation has the same player photo but each has some minor difference. Done in the style of the cards produced by The Exhibit Supply Company from 1921-66, each different variation is serial-numbered from as little as 21 to as much as 66 copies.

The Exhibits inserted into Second Edition packs have a blue tint, and are not serial-numbered.
