Description
1998 Ultra is a 501-card set released over two series. This would be the first year Ultra had short-printed base set cards, and the third year Fleer printed the cards on 20 pt. card stock.
The set contains the following short-printed subsets: Seasons Crowns (211-220), Prospects (221-245), Checklists (246-250 and 473-475), and Pizzazz (476-500). Card #501, featuring Mike Piazza as a New York Met, was a late addition to the set.
Rookie Cards include Kevin Millwood and Magglio Ordonez. Though never confirmed by Fleer, it's believed that several cards within the Prospects subset are in shorter supply than others - most notably #238 Ricky Ledee and #243 Jorge Velandia.
Seeded one in every pack, was one of 50 Million Dollar Moment cards which pictured some of the greatest moments in baseball history and gave the collector a chance to win a million dollars. Also seeded at the rate of one-per-pack were Diamond Ink point cards. Diamond Ink point cards were seeded across all 1998 Fleer Baseball card products. If a hobbyist amassed 500 points for a particular player, he/she could redeem them for a autographed baseball of the player.

As a special last minute promotion, Fleer/SkyBox got Alex Rodriguez to autograph 750 copies of his 1998 Fleer Tradition Promo card. Each card is serial-numbered by hand on the card front. The signed cards were randomly seeded into Ultra Series two hobby packs.
