2000 Upper Deck Ovation
Description
2000 Upper Deck Ovation is an 89-card set released in March, 2000. The set featured 60 player cards, 19 World Premiere cards (1:3), and 10 Superstar cards (1:6).
Also, a selection of A Piece of History 3000 Club Willie Mays memorabilia cards were randomly seeded into packs. 300 bat cards, 350 jersey cards, 50 hand-numbered combination bat-jersey cards and twenty-four autographed, hand-numbered, combination bat-jersey cards were produced. Pricing for these memorabilia cards can be referenced under 2000 Upper Deck A Piece of History 3000 Club.
Ryan Anderson card
Ryan "Little Unit" Anderson (Card #70 in the Ovation set) was a highly-regarded pitching prospect in the Mariners organization how never threw an inning in the Majors due to injuries and poor performance. Anderson had been on the Mariners 40-man roster, but before the 2000 season was taken off of it, forcing Upper Deck to pull it from Ovation. However, some Anderson's did make their way into packs -- usually with the logo of NASCAR embossed on it. This card is not considered part of a complete set, and it is unknown if Anderson was included in the Standing Ovation parallel.
Distribution
20 packs per box, five cards per pack (MSRP: $3.99). Hobby only.
