Description

1990 Classic is a 299-card set (300 cards total), released in three separate series. Unlike the original Classic game, these Classic sets (known as the "Blue with Pink", "Yellow with Blue ", and "Travel Update Pink with Blue" sets) were sold without the full board game. Similarly to previous years sets, the card backs contain several trivia questions (and answers) which are used to play the game.

Two "Factory" sets were each sold individually and separately distributed. The "Blue with Pink" set has a total of 150 cards. The "Yellow with Blue" set comes with 99 numbered cards and one card with a blank, blue back featuring multiple players, and each number on the back is preceded by the letter "T". Lastly, the "Travel Update Pink with Blue" set is comprised of 50 additional cards.

Early cards can be found of Chipper Jones, Frank Thomas, Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey, Jr., John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Craig Biggio, Gary Sheffield, Edgar Martinez, Barry Bonds, Bernie Williams, Sammy Sosa, Robin Ventura, Todd Hundley and Dave Justice.

Other Hall of Famers that can be found in the various factory (non Update ) set include several Nolan Ryan cards, Cal Ripken, Jr., Rickey Henderson, Ozzie Smith, Wade Boggs, Ryne Sandberg, Barry Larkin, Roberto Alomar, Andre Dawson, Tony Gwynn, Carlton Fisk, Robin Yount, and Bert Blyleven, as well as cards of Roger Clemens, Rafael Palmeiro, and Mark McGwire.

The games were produced by Game Time, Ltd. and were available in toy stores as well as from card dealers.
