Description

2016 Topps Chrome is a 200-card set released August 3rd, 2016. As usual, each Hobby box will yield two autographs and the usual slew of Refractor parallels are included.

Distribution

Hobby: 24 packs per box, four cards per pack (MSRP: $3). 12 boxes per case.

Jumbo: 12 packs per box, 13 cards per pack (MSRP: $10). Eight boxes per case

At the time of 2015 Topps Chrome's release, Topps was unable to come to terms with Carlos Correa on an autograph contract and as a result, Correa was excluded from the 2015 Chrome Rookie Autographs checklist. In September 2015 -- over a month after the release of 2015 Chrome -- Topps posted to their Instagram account, what appeared to be Correa signing a 2015 Topps Chrome Rookie Autograph SuperFractor.

In late January 2016, a trio of 2015 Topps Chrome Carlos Correa Rookie Autographs were posted for sale on Blowout Cards' fourm. One of the cards was a Purple Refractor serial-numbered to 250 copies, the other two Red Refractors numbered to five. It is unclear how these unreleased cards emerged, but it can be assumed they were "backdoored."

On February 19th, 2016, and unidentified Topps spokesperson told Beckett's Ryan Cracknell that "All Carlos Correa Topps Chrome autograph cards are in Topps’ possession,” and announced that all 2015 Correa Rookie Autographs would be inserted into packs of 2016 Topps Chrome.
