Parallels
Glossy
As mentioned, Fleer made two versions of this set: "standard" and "Glossy." 50,000 standard sets were produced with each set sealed with a serial-numbered sticker. Only 2632 Glossy sets were produced with each Glossy set also containing a number of bonus cards (see below).
Inserts
Call to Greatness
An oversized card measuring 3 1/2" x 5" was inserted into every Glossy set. Each is limited to 2632 copies.
Autographs & Game-Used
Each Glossy set contained either one of two autographs or one of five game-used cards.
The five game-used cards are: Base, Bat, Jersey, Jersey Patch, and On-Deck Circle. The Base card is game-dated to Ripken's final game, October 6th, 2001. The On-Deck Circle card is game-dated to July 26th, 2001. The Jersey Patch card features the same design and photograph as the Jersey card, and is not otherwise marked as being a "patch" card. These cards are NOT serial-numbered, and Fleer never released the production figures for each card; however, it is believed that the On-Deck Circle card is the scarcest.
Of the two autographs available, one features the same design of the game-used cards, and the other is an autographed reprint of Ripken's 1982 Fleer rookie card. The reprint card is hand-numbered to 82 copies.
