Description

2023 Topps Now Road to Opening Day is a series of ten-card team sets, all produced to order by Topps. Each set retailed for $34.99. Unlike the traditional Topps Now cards, which were only available for a 24 hour period, Road to Opening Day sets were sold Beginning March 15th until April 6th. Each set also contained a randomly-inserted parallel serial-numbered to 99 copies or fewer.

New for 2023 are Autograph Collector Packs. For $99.99, collectors would receive a ten-card pack containing eight randomly selected base cards, one Gold Foil parallel serial-numbered to 23 copies, and a randomly selected autograph serial-numbered to 99 copies or fewer.

Bonus

Bonus cards were issued to those who purchased a Road to Opening Day team set. If a player on that team -- even if that player does NOT appear in the team set -- achieved one of five milestones during the 2023 season (including postseason play), the collector would receive a Bonus card. The five milestones were:

Pitcher(s) throws a no-hitter or perfect game.
Pitcher throws a complete game shutout.
Pitcher throws 15 Ks in a game.
Player hits for the cycle.
Player hits 3 HRs in a game.

NOTE: Cards distributed through the Autograph Collector Packs are not eligible for this promotion -- even if the player accomplished one of the five milestones. Only team set purchasers got these cards. Because of this, the production run of the Bonus cards does NOT match the production run of the base cards. We estimate 78 copies of all 300 base cards were distributed via the Autograph Collector Packs.

Each pack, which retailed for $99.99, would receive eight randomly selected base cards, one Gold Foil parallel serial-numbered to 23 copies, and one of the autographs listed below. Each Autograph is serial-numbered to 99 copies and also available in the following parallels.

The set is skip-numbered.
