2006 Upper Deck

Description

2006 Upper Deck is a massive 1250-card set released in three series and is widely considered to be one of Upper Deck's finest accomplishments. The first series of 500 cards was released in April 6, 2006 while the next 500 cards were issued August 8th. Combo Fat Packs (containing cards from both series) were released September 21st. The final 250 cards were issued as part of the retail-exclusive Update Series, which went live in December. 50 cards in the Update Series were short-printed.

There are two different versions of Jason Repko's card. Repko is on the checklist as card #246; however, the Repko inserted into Series One packs was erroneously numbered as #283. However, when the Series One & Two Deck Fat Packs, were issued, Repko's card number was corrected.

Distribution

Hobby: 24 packs per box, eight cards per pack (MSRP: $2.99). 12 boxes per Hobby case.

Retail: 24 packs per box, eight cards per pack.

Blasters: Eight packs per box, eight cards per pack.

Fat Packs: 18 packs per box, 32 cards per pack.

WBC Collection Jersey

Each WBC Collection Jersey card features a single-color, game-worn swatch from a WBC jersey. They are distinct by having a silver border around the jersey containing the words "AUTHENTIC GAME-USED JERSEY".

There is also a Patch parallel which features a multi-color patch piece, a distinctive gold border around the patch window, the words "AUTHENTIC GAME-USED PATCH" and is limited, but NOT serial-numbered, to eight copies.

NOTE: There are counterfeit patch cards in the market - unscrupulous forgers have taken Jersey cards - with the silver bordered swatch window and replaced the jersey with a patch. Patches were not used for the Jersey cards. Be very suspicious of any Jersey card (with a silver jersey window border) featuring a patch as Upper Deck did not feature patches on the Jersey cards for distinction.
