For the entire month of October, we are asking you to suppoprt BCP with a donation.
BCP is a little different than your typical web site. We have no paid employees, no sponsorships, no corporate funding and no benefits. Everything you see on the site was written and maintaned by a group of baseball card collectors from around the world who do this for free. The people who contribute spend hours researching cards, digging for information on older cards, badgering card manufacturers for information on newer cards. We do all of this so you can have a single place to go to get this information.
We thrive to be one of the best hobby resources when it comes to checklists, set descriptions, insertion ratios, product release schedules and more. For some sets, often times we have a complete checklist, which was compiled by hand, within days of its release.
Over the past year, we've added several features to the site like the ability to search by team and player. These additions were the direct result of the feedback from our visitor survey. When you ask us for improvements, we try our best to add them if we can. There are several additional improvements that we are currently considering, but due to the amount of work, we're not sure if and when they will be implemented.
We’d like to keep this resource up and running, but we can only do it with your support.
Just from a technical perspective, running a web site isn't free; there are montly costs involved in hosting and bandwith. As BCP continues to grow, these costs increase. For the last several years, we have paid these costs out of our own pockets. Last year we decided to start placing ads on the site to recoup some of these costs. Lately, our operation costs are exceeding our income from ads. We wouldn't be asking for you help if we didn't need it.
Please consider making a donation to BCP, no matter small or large.
Thank You.

Collector,
This is not what you think it is. This is not a solicitation for money -- although you’re more than welcome to <a link to donation>send us a couple of bucks.
We’re not asking you to send us some cards – although we’d appreciate it if you check out<a stalegum.com our wantlists.
For the next few weeks, all we ask of you is something simple and will take only a few seconds of your time.

That is all. Just click on our banner ads.
Baseballcardpedia was created by two baseball card collectors as a service to The Hobby. We’ve done this completely on a volunteer basis and have paid for this out of our own pockets. We’ve accepted no salary or other compensation for this project.
By clicking on our banner ads, you will be helping us out in several different ways. You’ll help us cover the cost of our dedicated server and bandwidth. You’ll help us improve the software and database that runs the site -- making it easier to search, easier to read, and easier to write for. We are committed to growing the free knowledge movement world-wide, by recruiting new volunteers, and building strategic partnerships with institutions of culture and learning.
Baseballcardpedia is different. We are a community of baseball card collectors willing to share our knowledge of this hobby we love with other collectors and the general public. We’d like to keep this resource up and running, but we can only do so with your support.
Always Be Collecting,
Chris Thomas Chris Harris
