Description

The 1980-81 Donruss Test is a three-card promo set distributed as part of a test to see how collectors liked the original design for the forthcoming 1981 Donruss set. (They mustn't have liked it, as the 1981 Donruss set is different.) These were issued either separately or as part of a three card "strip." The first two cards are of Reggie Jackson and George Brett, with the third "card" a blank template. The backs of each card are blank.

Somewhere between 400 and 500 copies of each card, in both single and strip form, were produced. It is unclear exactly when these cards were produced; but it is believed sometime in December 1980/January 1981.
